CUET 2026 Political Science Preparation Tips
As CUET is a centralized and important exam, it requires a lot of dedication and preparation. To secure your seat at the top, you need to follow some CUET 2026 Political Science preparation tips, which are mentioned below:
1. Keep a distinct approach for both parts of the syllabus: Since the CUET Political Science syllabus is divided into 2 parts, it is advised to have distinct approaches for both syllabi. For Part A: Politics in India Since Independence, you must focus on events in chronological order, such as the order of Prime Ministers in the Coalition Era or steps leading to the 1975 Emergency.
Furthermore, for Part B: Contemporary World Politics, the International Bodies & Treaties topic represents high-yield study material; create tables for key organizations like the UN, ASEAN, and SAARC. Track details such as establishment year, headquarters, founding members, and major treaties like the Kyoto Protocol and Montreal Protocol.
2. Create a Fact-Box Notebook: CUET demands precise factual revisions, so it is advised to maintain a dedicated notebook or digital sheet for key personalities. Read about the important slogans and focus specifically on those mentioned in the NCERT, like the 42nd Amendment or Article 370.
3. Prepare MCQs: Since the question paper will largely feature MCQs, it is recommended that you prepare them well. Using Elimination Techniques will help you solve MCQs quickly and efficiently.
4. Focus on high-weightage topics: Prioritize high-weightage units, such as such as End of Bipolarity, International Organizations, Crisis of Democratic Order, in your study plan as they repeatedly appear in the question paper.
5. Cover NCERT books: 95% of questions are expected to come directly from the Class 12 NCERTs (Contemporary World Politics and Politics in India Since Independence). Read the Boxes and "Cartoons sections in the book. NTA often asks questions based on the captions or the meaning of the cartoons.
