DTE Tamil Nadu B.Tech Lateral Entry Admission 2023: Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Tamil Nadu is conducting the direct admission to B Tech 2nd year 2023. DTA Tamil Nadu  B Tech Lateral Entry allows candidates to take admission directly to the 2nd year engineering programs offered by the various Tamil Nadu colleges and universities. Candidates should check the eligibility criteria before filling out the online application form. Candidates who have completed a three-year engineering diploma after completing class 10th or B.Sc. programs after completing class 12th are eligible for TN lateral entry admissions through TNLEA counselling.

The application form for the DTE Tamil Nadu B Tech 2nd year admission 2023 was filled out online from June 1 to July 7. Candidates could follow the detailed instructions given below to fill out the Tamil Nadu B Tech Lateral Entry Application Form 2023.

Registration fees for the TN Lateral Entry Admission Form must be paid online. Candidates from the general category must pay a registration fee of Rs.300. Tamil Nadu SC/SCA/ST applicants are exempted from paying the registration fee.

Documents Required to Fill TN Lateral Admission form 2023

The following documents were required to fill out the TN Lateral Admission form 2023.

  • 10th Mark Sheet
  • Diploma/B Sc Mark Sheet
  • First Graduate Certificate and First Graduate Joint Declaration (If applicable).
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Permanent Community Certificate Card for SCA, ST, SC, MBC & DNC, BC, and BCM
  • Nativity Certificate (If applicable)
  • Srilankan Tamil Refugee certificate  (If applicable).
  • Relevant certificates for Son / Daughter of Ex-Serviceman, Differently Abled Person, and Eminent Sports Persons  (If applicable).

Note- The caste certificate, nativity certificate, first graduation certificate, if required to be uploaded must be in the Permanent card or electronic form or digitally signed e-Certificate format.

DTE Tamil Nadu B.Tech Lateral Entry Eligibility Criteria 2023

Before filling out the application form, candidates had to go through the DTE TN B.Tech Lateral Entry eligibility criteria 2023 and make sure they completed all the necessary fields like the nativity, educational qualification, etc.

  1. Domicile

Candidates must be Tamil Nadu residents.

Note-

  • Wards of federal government officials who have served in Tamil Nadu over the previous five years, regardless of nationality, are also eligible.
  • Candidates having a native other than Tamil Nadu who have studied in Tamil Nadu for class 9th, 10th, Diploma/class 11th, 12th, and B.Sc. are also eligible.
  • Children of employees in the public sector or in government-recognized institutions who have been consistently employed in Tamil Nadu for the previous five years at the time of application for admission may also apply, regardless of their domicile.
  • Sons and daughters of officers from the Tamil Nadu cadre of the All India Service are eligible. In this case, a self-declaration from the parent must be submitted at the time of original certificate verification.
  1. Qualification

Candidates must have passed a three-year diploma in engineering after 10th grade or a BSc degree after 12th grade.

Candidates must achieve the qualifying marks listed in the table below for their category to take DTE Lateral Entry for the B.Tech course.

  1. Eligibility Criteria for Sri Lankan Tamil Refugee

Candidates who are Sri Lankan Tamil Refugees and have studied in Tamil Nadu will be considered in the open competition. At the time of original certificate verification, they must present the following to apply for the DTE Tamil Nadu B Tech Lateral Entry Admission 2023.

  • Identification certificate from the Tahsildar of the Head Quarters.
  • Those who have not registered in the refugee camp must present their original passport, visa, and letter registered with the Police Station.

Counselling Process for DTE Tamil Nadu B Tech Lateral Entry Admission 2023

DTE, Tamil Nadu, is conducting the TN lateral entrance counselling 2023 online. Candidates are invited to participate in the counselling process via an online call letter. Seats will be assigned online based on the candidates' position in the merit list, seat availability, seat preference, category, and other factors.

  • Before a seat is assigned, applicants must indicate their course and college preferences.
  • The administration will give the candidates a temporary allocation letter, which they must have with them when they report to the designated institute.
  • Those who do not report to the selected college on time will not be provided another seat, and the allocation letter will be terminated.
