FAQs

What score should be considered safe for Paediatrics in NEET SS 2025?

To remain on the safer side, candidates targeting Paediatrics should aim for a score at least 60–80 marks above the expected qualifying cutoff, especially if they are targeting top-tier institutions.

Is there a difference between qualifying cutoff and admission cutoff in Paediatrics?

Yes, the qualifying cutoff is the minimum eligibility score, while the admission cutoff is the score at which seats actually get allotted. Admission cutoffs for Paediatrics are typically much higher due to limited seats and high demand.

What is the expected qualifying score range for Paediatrics in NEET SS 2025?

Based on previous years’ trends, the expected qualifying score for Paediatrics in NEET SS 2025 may range between 285–290 marks for General category candidates, while reserved category candidates may qualify with scores around 255–265 marks, subject to exam difficulty.

Is the Paediatrics cutoff same for all DM Paediatric super-specialties?

No, the cutoff is not the same for all Paediatric super-specialties. Popular branches such as DM Neonatology, DM Paediatric Cardiology, and DM Paediatric Neurology generally have higher admission cutoffs compared to less preferred Paediatric DM courses due to higher competition and limited seats.

Yes, you can change your category from General to Scheduled Caste but you cannot change it after the registration form is submitted because a person cannot change his/her caste at will. You can change your category before submitting the registration form. You must submit your new caste SC certificate for caste change. Thank you.
