FAQs

Will category-wise cutoffs differ for Pathology in NEET SS 2025?

Yes, category-wise cutoffs are different. Reserved categories such as OBC, SC, and ST are given lower qualifying percentiles as per government norms. However, during counselling, merit within each category determines seat allocation, and high-rankers from reserved categories may still secure top institutes.

Is there a separate cutoff for government and private colleges in Pathology?

There is no officially separate cutoff for government and private colleges. However, in practice, government colleges usually have higher admission cutoffs due to affordability, reputation, and patient exposure. Private colleges may have lower closing scores, making them accessible to candidates with comparatively lower ranks.

Is the cutoff for Pathology different from other NEET SS specialties?

Yes, the cutoff for Pathology can differ from other NEET SS specialties such as Medicine, Surgery, or Paediatrics. Pathology generally sees moderate competition, so its cutoff scores are often slightly lower than high-demand clinical branches but higher than some super-specialties with fewer applicants. Demand, seat availability, and overall candidate performance influence these variations.

Yes, you can change your category from General to Scheduled Caste but you cannot change it after the registration form is submitted because a person cannot change his/her caste at will. You can change your category before submitting the registration form. You must submit your new caste SC certificate for caste change. Thank you.
