The factors determining the JEE Main cutoff 2024 are difficulty level of JEE Main, the total number of candidates, past year’s cutoff, availability of seats at the participating colleges, performance of the candidates etc.
For GFTI admission, candidates should aim for 150-180 marks which can get them a percentile of 90-95 and 40,000-60,000 rank. This rank can open the doors for top GFTIs like School of Planning & Architecture, New Delhi, Assam University, etc.
For IIIT admission, candidates should aim for a score above 100 marks in the JEE Main 2024 exam. 100 marks in the JEE Main exam will get candidates around 90 percentile translating 1,00,000 to 1,50,000 rank. This rank range can open the doors for admission into top IIITs like IIIT Hyderabad, IIIT Bangalore, etc.
Candidates rank should be less than 10,000 in JEE Main to get admission into NITs. However, newer NITs accept candidates with a JEE Main rank more than 70,000.
To secure admission across NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs, candidates are required to achieve a minimum of 75% in their 12th class for JEE Mains 2025 or be among the top 20 percentile in their class 12 exams (65% for SC/ST candidates).
