Students from rural areas have to apply for WBSCC online or they have to get help from the block office. You can also apply at any participating bank branch such as State Bank of India (SBI), Bank of India (BOI), Punjab National Bank (PNB), and others, as these organisations are generally involved in offering this scheme in West Bengal.

Online Registration

The applicant has to visit the official website of the West Bengal Government, wbscc.wb.gov.in or banglaruchchashiksha.wb.gov.in and then click on the Student Credit Card tab to apply for the West Bengal Student Credit Card. They have to fill up the important details like name, date of birth, present course of study, contact details and selection of password. Upon successful registration, a unique ID will be generated which will be sent to the mobile number of the student. This unique ID will be used for submission and other future purposes of the application.

Filling the Application Form

Before starting to fill out the WBSCC application form, candidates have to log in using their generated credentials like the registration number and password. The applicants have to enter their details like name, father’s name, mother’s name, co-borrower / name of guardian and their respective detailed information, present and permanent address details, course and income details, bank details of the student and the co-borrower.

The documents that you have to submit are:

  • Colour Photograph of the applicant (in .jpeg / .jpg between 50 KB and 20 KB)
  • Colour Photograph of the co-applicant / co-borrower (in .jpeg / .jpg format, between 50 KB and 20 KB)
  • Signature of the student (in .jpeg / .jpg format, between 50 KB and 10 KB)
  • Co-borrower / Guardian’s signature (in .jpeg / .jpg, between 50 KB and 10 KB)
  • Student’s Aadhar Card (in pdf format, between 400 KB and 50 KB)
  • Student’s Class 10th Board registration certificate, if aadhar card is unavailable (in pdf format between 400 KB and 50 KB)
  • Guardian’s Address Proof (in .pdf format between 400 KB and 50 KB)
  • Admission Receipt (in .pdf between 400 KB and 50 KB)
  • Student’s PAN Card/ undertaking if there is no PAN Card (in .pdf format between 400 KB and 50 KB)
  • The relevant page of the brochure/ document detaining course fee/ tuition fee (in pdf format between 400 KB and 50 KB)

Check Applicant Profile

To apply for the West Bengal Credit Card scheme from rural areas, students have to click on the Applicant Profile View page where their name, scanned photo and signature, scanned photo and signature of co-borrower, details of the qualifying exam, details of the present course of study, personal information, etc. will be mentioned as per what they have filled out.

Review the Application Form

In the applicant profile view section, candidates get the option to cross-check every detail mentioned by them for West Bengal Credit Card from rural areas. In case they find any discrepancy in the information provided earlier, they can edit the details by clicking on the edit button on the left panel. If the student is satisfied with the information provided, then they can proceed to the next step of student loan application.

Submit Application

The applicant has to carefully review their application and then click on the “Submit Application” tab.
