Lucknow University 2019-20 Ph.D. Admission will consist of a total of 478 seats. Among these seats, 243 Ph.D. seats will be for the faculty of arts, 144 seats will be for the faculty of science, 41 for commerce, 38 for law, 7 seats for fine arts n and 5 seats for Education Faculty.

To be eligible for a Ph.D. program, at Lucknow University, the candidate must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

• Students must have pursued a postgraduate degree from a recognized college or university.
• Students who are in the final year of their UG degree can also apply for admissions.
• The student must have acquired an aggregate of 55% (equivalent to a B grade) in their master’s or professional degree level with 50% for S.C./S.T./OBC/PH students.
• The students who are pursuing a Masters in Philosophy from any Indian institute can also apply for the LU Ph.D. admission.

Lucknow University Ph.D. Admission 2019-20 Application Form

• The application process for Lucknow University 2019 Ph.D. Admissions will be carried out in the following given steps.
• The students will select the preferred course in which they want to pursue a Ph.D. in along with the faculty. Then the registration will start where students will fill the form with their required details.
• The students will have to convey the personal details along with their academic details. While the personal details will include the father’s name, gender, etc., the academic details will include the subjects which they studied during their final year of gradation and PG.
• Students will be required to upload the scanned signature along with their photographs.
• The application submitted by the student will be reviewed by the authority and refilling of the form will be done in case of an error.
• The students will submit the application fee which will be INR 2000 for General castes and INR 1000 for reserved castes. The payment of application fee can be done in any mode including credit card, e-banking, e-challan, etc.
• The students will then require to download the application form and receipt for the fee to complete the application process.
• After completing the application process, the selection process for the LU 2019 Ph.D. program will be started.

Lucknow University Ph.D. Admission 2019-20 Selection Process

The selection process for Lucknow University 2019 Ph.D. Admissions will be carried out in two major steps:

Step 1: Entrance Test

The students who have been qualified in the application process will be eligible to attend the Qualifying Entrance Test (QET) for admission. The QET syllabus will consist of the same subjects as completed by the student in his/her PG program. The test will be a total of 90 minutes which will consist of 100 multiple choice questions related to research aptitude and subject proficiency. Students will have to acquire at least 50% for qualifying the test for admission.

Step 2: Interview

The interview session for LU 2019 Ph.D. admission will be conducted for both QET qualified and non-qualified students. The interview process will be further divided into three sessions which will be the final selection process of LU Ph.D. Admissions.

• In the first session, students will have to prepare a research report proposal for their preferred area of research and submit it to the interview board.
• Through the second session, students will have to prepare a powerpoint presentation and present it in front of the interview board.
• The third session will be the final session where students will have to bring all their documents and the personal interview of students will be carried out.

Based on the percentile ratio of 60:40 in terms of personal interview and academic qualifications respectively, the students will be given marks out of 100. Based on the marks gained by the students, the further Ph.D. admission process of Lucknow University will be carried out.
