The NEET PG seats in India 2026 are expected to rise by around 4.5% for the NEET PG 2026 exam. At around 29,477+ government college seats and 15,500 private colleges, seats are likely to be added in the counselling process. 

 

NEET PG 2026 Seats in India

NEET PG Seats in India offered through the NEET PG 2026 exam are expected to be over 52,173. The NEET PG seats are expected to increase this year as compared to previous years' trends. 500 to 1500 seats are likely to be added, and 2300+ seats have recently been approved by the NMC authorities. It is expected that the government medical colleges may have 29,477 seats or more. On the other hand, private colleges may offer 15,500 seats during the NEET PG counselling process. Similarly, deemed universities may have an additional 7000 seats, but it is not certain.

The NEET PG 2026 Exam is likely to be held on August 30, 2026. The NEET PG seats are allotted to students based on the NEET PG counselling 2026 process conducted by respective medical colleges. NEET PG 2026 Seat Allocation Process

The National Board of Examinations for Medical Sciences (NBEMS) releases the merit list for the 50% All India Quota (AIQ) candidates. Based on this merit list, candidates will be called for the NEET PG 2026 Counselling process. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts the NEET PG counselling in 50% of Central and Deemed Universities. For the other 50% seats, the respective state authorities hold the NEET PG counselling process.

To participate in the NEET PG counselling, you need to register yourself on the MCC website. You need to pay the registration fee in online mode using Debit or Credit cards. You will be allocated all the NEET PG Seats in India based on your preferences entered during the choice-filling round. After the choice-filling round is over, a seat allocation result will be released bearing the roll number of applicants and their allocated NEET PG seats. In the end, all the eligible candidates will be called for the physical admission round in the NEET PG Seats in India.
