The PSTET 2026 notification will be published by Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) on the official website at pseb.ac.in in October 2026 along with the registration, exam, admit card, and result dates. The admit card for the exam can be downloaded from the official website using your PSTET registration number. PSEB will also release the answer key for the students after the conclusion of the entrance exam. After the results for the PS TET 2026 exam are published, candidates can check their rank and merit position on the rank list after downloading their scorecard from the official website. The PSTET Punjab 2026 Result will be made available as a scorecard containing the marks obtained by candidates in the exam and can be downloaded using your Mobile Number and Password.

Candidates will also be provided an option to raise objections against the provisional answer key and then a final answer key will be published hereafter. The exam will be conducted offline in two shifts. The Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test, popularly known as PSTET, is an exam conducted by the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) once a year to select candidates for Primary (Classes 1 to 5) and Upper Primary (Classes 6-8) level teachers in the schools of Punjab. What is the PSTET Exam 2026?

PSTET, Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test, is a state-level exam administered by the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) to determine candidates' eligibility for positions as Primary (Classes 1–5) and Upper Primary (Classes 6-8) level teachers in the government schools of Punjab. The Punjab TET 2026 exam will be held in two shifts and will consist of two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. PSTET Paper 1 is for candidates who wish to teach in grades 1 through 5, whereas PSTET Paper 2 is for those who want to teach in grades 6 through 8. Those who want to teach in grades 1 through 8 must take both exams. The typical PS TET exam centres include Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Patiala, Bathinda, Mohali, Gurdaspur, Sangrur, Hoshiarpur, and Firozpur.

The exam is conducted offline exam over a duration of 2.5 hours. A total of 150 MCQs are asked from topics like Child Development & Pedagogy (30 marks), Language I (Punjabi, 30 marks), Language II (English, 30 marks), and subject-specific sections (Math/Science or Social Studies, 60 marks). 1 mark is allotted for each correct answer and no negative marking exists for incorrect answers or unattempted questions. You must obtain at least 60% in aggregate, i.e. 90 marks out of 150, to qualify for the exam. The certificate will be valid lifelong.

Primary Teachers (Class I to V)

  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% or appearing in the final year of a two-year Elementary Education Diploma.

  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 45 percent or in the last year of a two-year Elementary Education Diploma program.

  • Senior Secondary School (or equivalent) with a minimum of 45 percent or the last year of a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 45 percent or the last year of a two-year Education Diploma (Special Education).

  • Graduated from high school or are in the last year of a two-year Elementary Education diploma program.

Upper Primary Teachers (Class VI to XII)

  • Graduation or completion of a two-year Elementary Education Diploma program.

  • Passed or enrolled in a one-year Bachelor of Education program with a minimum of 50% marks (B.Ed).

  • Graduation with at least 45 percent marks or passing or enrolling in a one-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) program in line with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations.

  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% or the last year of a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% passing or appearing in the last year of a four-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed/B.Sc.Ed program.

  • Graduation with a minimum of 50% marks and passing or enrolling in a one-year B.Ed. program (Special Education).

  • Step 6 : On the new page that appears, enter your login details.

  • Step 7 : After logging in, fill out information such as his or her name, email address, and other pertinent information.

  • Step 8 : After inputting all of the required information, upload your signature and photo.

  • Step 9 : Complete the registration payment.

  • Step 10 : Once all of the procedures have been completed. Click the 'Submit' button.
