
As per the Maharashtra government records, there are officially 59 Scheduled Castes in the state. The SC Caste List in Maharashtra has incorporated castes/ communities like Anamuk, Aray Mala, Bhambhi, Chenna Dasar, Halasvar, Madiga, Kolupulvandlu, etc., among others. Eligibility for Scheduled Castes in Maharashtra
In order to be eligible to be recognized under the SC caste list Maharashtra, you must fulfill the following eligibility requirements:
- As established by the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Modification) Order, 1950, you must belong to one of the Scheduled Castes recognized in the state of Maharashtra.
- You are required to be a permanent resident of Maharashtra.
- It is mandatory that your caste is listed in the official SC caste list that is formulated specifically for Maharashtra.
