DTU Delhi JEE Main Cutoff 2026 is likely to remain high for most BTech branches at Delhi Technological University. Computer Science and related courses such as Information Technology and Software Engineering are expected to be the toughest to get, as they usually close at lower ranks due to high demand. Core branches like Electrical, Mechanical, and Electronics and Communication Engineering are also likely to stay competitive, but their cutoffs may be slightly more relaxed than CSE. Other branches may have higher closing ranks, making them easier to get compared to top-demand programmes. The general category Delhi quota sees closing ranks are likely to drop by 5-10% from 2025, while outside Delhi ranks may remain competitive. Reserved categories follow similar shifts, with OBC ranks improving marginally
For DTU Delhi admission to the BTech CSE programme, the candidates will need to have a really high rank in JEE Main 2026, considering the tough paper and increased competition.

Hostel: There are many hostels in DTU but the best hostels are ARYABHATTA and APJ for boys and Sister NIVEDITA hostel and VIRANG -LAXMI BAI (VLB) for the girls . these hostels comprises of well settled room with cooler and AC's . while the hostels are connected to the wifi and lan also more than a thousands students used to live there .
Overall: DTU is overall a very good college. There is no any doubt about the infrastructure, the course, academics, the campus life and the facilities over here. College provides every basic and advanced facility. that a student needs. Most of the faculties here are very cooperative, except few of them who are less approachable. Placements here are good, but not very great as the recession is going on. But still in many big tech and non-tech companies are coming over here for placements, including—Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe Flipkart, JP Morgan, BNY Mellon, and fast Retailing. The campus life here is the best, including the fest, the food outlets, the open area to sit and discuss with friends. As every college has some disadvantages along with the advantages. Like, sometimes the administrative actions take a lot of time, there are some irregularities and mismanagements too, but these are very common in any large institution. Except this, you would love and enjoy the college life here. The hostels are also very nice and in good conditions, AC Hostels are more preferable as they are really great, but you may also go for Non-AC Hostels. Overall, the college can be rated as one of the best Engineering colleges in Delhi, for sure.
Placement: Considering the decision time. because placements are going very well. Even the big tech companies, including Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Flipkart, Meesho, Fast retailing BNY Mellon, Citibank, JP Morgan, Atlassian. add many more such companies visited the college campus to hire students. and almost 50% of the students are placed yet, and there is still a lot time left in the ending of placement season. The highest package offered was 82LPA.And the average package will go from 12 to 13 lakh. So it can be easily concluded that the placements are good here in Comparison to other colleges.
Overall: DTU is one of the top engineering colleges in India, offering a solid academic foundation combined with a dynamic campus life. The admission process is merit-based, using JEE Mains scores, and the competition is fierce, particularly for non-Delhi candidates due to the 85% Delhi quota. The course curriculum is good for foundational knowledge, especially for technical subjects like OOPs, DBMS, and OS. However, some advanced topics only touch the intermediate level. The schedule can be hectic, with exams, projects, and tests tightly packed into a two-month timeframe. Despite the challenges, DTU's strong placement record, internship opportunities, and vibrant extracurricular activities make it a preferred choice for aspiring engineers.
Placement: DTU’s placement and internship opportunities are one of its strongest aspects. From the 5th semester onwards, students can apply for internships, some of which include pre-placement offers (PPOs). Top companies like Microsoft, Apple, Bain, and Infosys visit the campus for both internships and placements. Sprinklr, for instance, offers one of the best internship stipends at ₹2 lakh per month. The official placement season begins in the 7th semester, with a significant portion of students securing jobs by the end of the season. While DTU provides in-house internships, these are often not as appealing as external ones. Placement statistics have shown a slight decline recently, but DTU continues to maintain a competitive edge, with a decent number of students placed in high-paying roles. Overall, DTU’s strong corporate connections and its ability to attract top recruiters make it a great choice for career-focused students.
Infrastructure: DTU boasts a well-equipped campus with spacious classrooms, projectors, and Wi-Fi facilities in most areas. The library stays open late, providing a good environment for studying, and is well-stocked with books that are usually available. The sports grounds are large, with equipment available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The campus also features a variety of food outlets and canteens that cater to students late into the night, making it convenient for both day scholars and hostel residents.
Faculty: The faculty at DTU is a major highlight, known for being knowledgeable, approachable, and experienced. Many professors, such as Trasha Gupta and LN Das, are well-versed in their subjects and adopt a balanced teaching approach that helps students understand both theoretical and practical aspects. Some faculty members, like those in applied physics, were particularly renowned for their teaching quality and overall guidance, although faculty turnover occasionally leads to the loss of such gems. While most professors are helpful, a few are stricter with marking and can be inconsistent with conducting classes. Exams vary in difficulty, with some subjects being more challenging than others, depending on the professor. The curriculum offers a solid theoretical base but might lack the depth needed for advanced industry-level work, requiring students to self-learn emerging technologies. Despite minor drawbacks, DTU’s faculty ensures a robust academic foundation while fostering independent learning.
Hostel: Hostels at DTU, including JCB and VMH, provide a comfortable and convenient living experience for students who need accommodation. Rooms are clean, and amenities like Wi-Fi ensure students stay connected. Hostel life is vibrant, offering opportunities for bonding and participating in various activities. The campus nightlife is lively, with canteens like Mic Mac operating late into the night, making it easy for students to grab a meal or snack after long study sessions. The library also stays open until 10 PM, creating a productive environment for students who prefer studying late. Beyond academics, the campus organizes some of the best fests in North India, with active student societies that cater to a variety of interests. From sports and cultural events to workshops and hackathons, DTU’s campus life is dynamic and engaging, ensuring that students have a well-rounded experience both inside and outside the classroom.
Overall: It's having a good campus of 225 acre which includes everything you need except swimming . But the intake of Delhi region student is very high which is the main issue
Infrastructure: No college has a comparison except some iits . It's the oldest engineering college .it includes many iconic building like OAT, mini OAT , raj soin hall , BR auditorium and twin tower which is just amazing
