NIT Goa BTech Admission Process 2026

NIT Goa BTech admission process starts with the JEE Main 2026 results, followed by JoSAA counselling rounds. Candidates register online, fill in choices for branches, and lock preferences. Seats are allotted based on JEE ranks and category. Students complete document verification and pay fees to confirm admission. The process runs in multiple rounds with options to upgrade seats.

Steps for NIT Goa BTech Admission

  • Register for JoSAA Counselling
The candidates must register on the Joint Seat Allocation Authority portal using their JEE Main 2026 application number and password. During registration, they are required to verify personal details, academic information, and category credentials, followed by payment of the JoSAA counselling fee to activate their candidature for seat allocation.
  • Fill and Lock Choices
The candidates must carefully select and arrange NIT Goa BTech specialisations in order of preference from the list of available institutes and branches. After reviewing all choices, they must lock their preferences within the stipulated deadline to ensure consideration in the seat allotment rounds.
  • Seat Allotment Through JoSAA Rounds
JoSAA conducts multiple rounds of seat allotment based on JEE Main 2026 All India Rank, category, seat availability, and candidate preferences. The candidates are required to check the allotment result after each round and decide whether to freeze, float, or slide the allotted seat.
  • Seat Acceptance and Fee Payment
Upon allotment of a seat at NIT Goa, the candidates must accept the seat online by paying the seat acceptance fee within the prescribed timeline. They must also upload scanned copies of required documents for preliminary verification. For the general, OBC, and EWS candidates, the seat acceptance fees are INR 35,000. However, for the SC/ST/PWD, it’s INR 15,000. These fees are later adjusted to the BTech annual fees during admission.
  • Online Document Verification
The candidates undergo online verification of academic certificates, identity proof, category certificates, and other mandatory documents by the designated reporting centre to confirm provisional admission.
  • Physical Reporting at NIT Goa
The candidates must report physically to the NIT Goa campus on the specified date with original documents for final verification. They are required to complete biometric verification and submit additional forms as instructed by the institute.
  • Final Admission and Fee Payment
After successful physical verification, the candidates must pay the remaining institute fees to confirm admission. Upon completion of all formalities, NIT Goa issues the final admission confirmation for the BTech programme.
