CMAT full form is Common Management Admission Test. It is a national-level MBA entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in online computer-based test mode for 3 hours. The syllabus, crafted by NTA with AICTE's input, covers Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, General Awareness, and Innovation & Entrepreneurship. Each section comprises 20 questions, totaling 400 marks. Correct answers earn 4 marks, with a 1-mark penalty for incorrect ones, while unanswered questions don't carry negative marks.
Over 1,300 AICTE-approved MBA institutions accept CMAT scores, making it one of India's most popular MBA entrance exams after CAT and XAT. Around 70,000 candidates take the test annually. CMAT is known for its relatively lower difficulty than CAT and XAT, making it a preferred choice among management aspirants. Qualified candidates can apply to MBA colleges in India, including GIM Goa, BIMTECH, Great Lakes Institute of Management, K J Somaiya Mumbai, PUMBA, and Welingkar Mumbai.
