The 21st-century Indian workforce considers money as the key motivating factor, and 83% employees aged between 25 – 34 years often tend to switch jobs for a salary hike. A popular global job website has conducted a survey in this regard and figured out some interesting facts.

Highlights of the Survey:
- As per the survey, 83% employees admitted that one of the major reasons for switching jobs is to secure a pay rise.
- On the other hand, a number of employees also mentioned that they would be willing to accept additional benefits at work instead of a pay rise.
- For instance, over 60% employees expressed that they would consider flexible working hours instead of a pay hike due to some reasons.
- Similarly, 47% people consider an increase in annual leave rather than pay hike.
- The survey also took a different perspective while taking opinions from the employees. As per another perspective, 40% employees prefer paid paternal leave to pay hike.
- Surprisingly, 63% people carve for healthcare benefits instead of the pay hike.
- Apart from the above, 43% responded that they are happy with the present salary.
Overall, the majority of employees prefer pay hike than other benefits. Therefore, the companies/ organisations will have to try to ensure that the expectations of employees are met.
