AIBE 21 Registration: The All India Bar Examination (AIBE) 21 registration process will start from February 11, and the application link will be activated at around 7 PM . The exam is conducted by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and is obligatory to be undertaken by law graduates who want to practice law in the country. More than 2 lakh aspirants are expected to register this year, showing the increasing number of law graduates all over the country.

AIBE is an entrance exam that tests the candidates’ understanding of the basic principles of law and ethics in the field of law. Upon passing the exam, the students are awarded the Certificate of Practice (CoP), which is required to practice law in Indian courts.

After the link is activated, the registration process will be done online through the official web portal of AIBE, www.allindiabarexamination.com. Candidates are advised to keep the enrolment details with the State Bar Council, academic information, and scanned copies of documents ready in advance to ensure a hassle-free registration process.

AIBE 21 Exam Structure: How the Open-Book Format Works

As per the existing pattern, AIBE is conducted in offline mode (pen-and-paper-based), consisting of objective-type MCQs. The question paper will test candidates on core subjects such as Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Civil Procedure Code, Criminal Procedure Code, Evidence Act, Contract Law, and professional ethics.

A key feature for aspirants is that AIBE is an open-book examination; candidates are permitted to carry bare acts and study material without notes or annotations into the exam hall. However, dependence on books alone is not suggested, as the exam is time-bound and questions are application-oriented, so one needs familiarity with concepts rather than searching line by line for answers.

Number of Attempts Allowed in AIBE Exam

The candidates appearing for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) can attempt the examination an unlimited number of times until they clear the examination. According to the guidelines of the Bar Council of India (BCI), a candidate can take the AIBE as many times as they want. If the candidate fails in one attempt, they can appear in subsequent attempts until they clear the examination and get the Certificate of Practice (CoP), which is a prerequisite to practice law independently in the country.
