Collegedekho News Desk, NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency activated the JEE Main result 2026 for the Session 1 exam for a few minutes; however, the result link did not work properly. Immediately after that, the NTA released an official declaration regarding the delay in the Session 1 result release, which will be published on February 16, 2026. Though there might be a server crash issue, the authority should not ideally take 5 days to release the result. Hence, there might be a serious issue behind the postponement of the Session 1 result.

Experts are assuming multiple reasons behind such delays. Though the authority has not explicitly cited “errors in the answer key” as the reason for the postponement of the Session 1 result, the experts speculate that discrepancies in the provisional answer key might be the primary factor in the deactivation of the result link.

Probable Reason behind JEE Main Session Result 2026 Delay

Since the Session 1 result is calculated based on the JEE Main final answer key, it is mandatory that there are no errors in it. Here are the major probable reasons behind the delay in releasing the JEE Main Session 1 results.

  • Answer Key Controversy: Several coaching centres found that there were 17 disputed questions. Also, experts caught errors in Physics sections, including the unclear wording, incorrect numerical values, and multiple correct options. Hence, candidates are demanding bonus marks for at least 10 of the questions. • Expert verification and normalization processing: Since there will be no chance of challenging the JEE Main final answer key, the subject matter experts of the NTA should make sure that it is 100% accurate.
  • Time Taking Normalization process: If there is any dropped question or change in any answer ID, then the NTA should re-run the entire normalization algorithm again to get the fair percentile score.
