CUET PG 2026 Fewer Exam Cities & Limited ChoicesCUET PG 2026 Fewer Exam Cities & Limited Choices: The National Testing Agency has made some key updates for CUET PG 2026 that you should know as you prepare your postgraduate entrance exam plan. While the syllabus, subjects, and exam pattern remain the same, the most notable change is the reduction in exam cities and limited city preferences, making early planning more crucial than ever. This year, the exam will be held in a total of 292 cities , including 276 cities across India and 16 international cities . Last year, the test was conducted in 312 cities, so you may need to be more careful while selecting your exam centre and preparing for possible travel arrangements.
CUET PG 2026 registrations are currently open in online mode on the official NTA website, and the examination will be conducted as a computer-based test (CBT). Along with the reduction in cities, you are now allowed to choose only two exam city preferences, instead of four earlier. These choices must be based on your present and permanent address. Although the NTA will try to allot you one of your selected cities, it has clearly stated that a different city may be assigned due to administrative reasons.
From an academic perspective, the structure of CUET PG 2026 remains stable. You will appear for a 90-minute paper, and the exam will be conducted for 157 subject papers, covering a wide range of disciplines. These include 22 common papers, 41 language papers, 30 science subjects, 26 humanities subjects, 12 MTech or higher science papers, and 26 Acharya-level subjects. This ensures that CUET PG continues to serve as a comprehensive, single-window entrance test for postgraduate admissions in central and participating universities.
If you are planning to take the exam outside India, CUET PG 2026 will be conducted in 16 international cities, including locations in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Nepal, Canada, the USA, Germany, and other countries.
