IIM Bangalore & FPSB India Launch Certificate Programme in Personal Finance & Wealth Advisory

IIM Bangalore launches a certificate programme in Personal Finance & Wealth Advisory with FPSB India. The course aims to train professionals in financial planning and wealth management.

IIM Bangalore & FPSB India: IIM Bangalore, in collaboration with FPSB India, has launched a new Certificate Programme in Personal Finance & Wealth Advisory (PFWA) to strengthen financial planning education in India. This executive programme has been developed by IIMB’s Centre for Capital Markets and Risk Management (CCMRM) and is aimed at professionals who want to build or advance their careers in personal finance and wealth management.

FPSB India, the Indian arm of the Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd., is the leading authority for financial planning education in the country and offers the globally recognised CFP certification. By partnering with IIM Bangalore, FPSB India seeks to create a high-quality learning platform that combines strong academic foundations with industry-relevant training.

The PFWA programme is structured to provide a mix of theoretical and practical exposure. This course includes fundamental principles of microeconomics and business, as well as the use of Bloomberg data sets and modern financial advisory models. This method enables attendees to learn skills that can be immediately applied in financial planning and client advisory positions.

The programme was formally launched in the presence of senior faculty members from IIM Bangalore, representatives from FPSB India, and members of the Council of Financial Planners. During the event, FPSB India also accredited the PFWA programme, highlighting its commitment to improving standards and innovation in financial planning education in India.

On successful completion of the programme, participants will receive a certificate from IIM Bangalore and be granted IIMB Executive Education Programme alumni status. This provides access to the institute’s alumni network and learning resources, adding long-term value to the professional growth of learners.

Moreover, candidates completing the PFWA programme may be eligible for a Fast Track Pathway to the CFP certification offered by FPSB India . With rising demand for qualified financial advisors, the programme is expected to help professionals enhance their career prospects while contributing to a stronger financial planning ecosystem in the country.
