The JEE Main Registration 2026 will begin either by Sunday or before Octiber 28, 2025, expectedly. The National Testing Agency has published the JEE Mains 2026 exam dates as well for both the exam Sessions. The official notification for the exam registration is expected to be out this week. The JEE Main exam will be conducted for engineering admission to all the premier institutions in the country. The Session 1 exam is scheduled to be held from January 26 to 30, 2026, and the Session 2 from April 1 to 10, 2026. The addition of several exam centres has been announced this year to accommodate more candidates and to ensure a smooth exam experience. Moreover, the NTA has also introduced Aadhar linking with the registration process this year for verification purposes.

How to Apply for JEE Main 2026?

The step-by-step guide to apply for the JEE Main 2026 is provided here:

Step 1: Student Registration Portal

To register for the entrance test, students will have to create their account on the official website by generating the account number, password and security question. The account number will be autogenerated after students submit their date of birth, name, contact information, and other details. The account number will be sent to the registered email directly for login reference. Students will have to enter the account number and select a security question and its answer.

Step 2: Fill-Up the Application Form

Once you have registered yourself on the official portal, you will have to log in using the credentials and click on the direct registration link to access the application form. You must fill in all the required details on the application form, like the address, educational qualifications, choice of exam centre, and personal information. It is in this step that you also have to upload the required documents for verification and proof of eligibility.

Step 3: Application Fee Payment

The final step of the application process is to pay the application form fee according to the reserved categories. The application fee is defined by the NTA according to the reservation policy and has to be paid in due time. Without the fee submission, the registration process will be deemed incomplete, and students will not be able to appear for the entrance exam. The modes of payment are Debit Card/Credit Card/Netbanking/UPI.

Instructions for JEE Main Registration 2026

Some important instructions to keep in mind while applying for the JEE Main Registration 2026 are as follows:

Applicants will have to select a unique password while creating their student account for registration.
All applicants will have to select a security question and its answer for verification purposes. This will be asked every time a student logs into the registration portal.
Students will have to enter their application number and password as registration credentials to access the registration link.
The password to be created must be between 8 to 13 characters long and must have one upper case and one lower case alphabet, one number, and one special character.
All students will have to link their Aadhar number with their application form for unique verification reasons.

In a gist, the JEE Main Registration 2026 will be conducted for Session 1 first in October 2025. The expected registration date is Sunday or before October 28, 2025. The NTA will open the application form correction process as soon as the registration window closes. The application process for the Session 2 exam will commence a few days after the Session 1 exam concludes.
