Tamil Nadu School Holiday Update 18 November 2025: Tamil Nadu is experiencing heavy rainfall due to a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, resulting in the government issuing an orange alert for several districts. Due to heavy rain, several districts in Tamil Nadu are likely to declare school holidays on November 18, 2025. The districts with a 60-70% chance of holiday include Thiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Chennai, Chengalpattu, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Thiruvarur, and Karaikal . These areas are expected to experience very heavy rainfall, encouraging authorities to consider declaring a holiday.  Puducherry, Karaikal, and Nagapattinam have already declared holidays for schools and colleges on November 17, 2025, due to heavy rain.

On the other hand, districts with a 30-40% chance of holiday include Kanyakumari, Virudhunagar, Tenkasi, Ramanathapuram, Sivagangai, Madurai, Dindigul, Theni, Thanjavur, Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Karur, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Villupuram, Ranipet, Chennai, Chengalpattu, Thiruvannamalai, Puducherry, Kallakkurichi, and Cuddalore.
