As of 2:30 AM IST on October 27, 2025, the storm is centred approximately 600 km east-southeast of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It is expected to move west-northwestwards over the southwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal for the next 12 hours, followed by a northwestward and then north-northwestward movement. The storm is likely to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm by the morning of October 28, 2025, and cross the Andhra Pradesh coast between Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam around Kakinada during the evening or night of October 28 as a severe cyclonic storm with maximum sustained wind speeds of 90-100 kmph gusting to 110 kmph.

Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Tiruvallur district , while heavy rain is expected at isolated places over Ranipet, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Chennai, Tenkasi, and Kanyakumari districts , as well as the Ghat areas of Tirunelveli district.
