TRB to announce TNTET 2026 Exam Date Soon
TNTET 2026:
The
Teachers Recruitment Board of Tamil Nadu concluded the TNTET 2025 exam process on January 30, 2026, with the announcement of results. The 2025 exam was conducted in November. In October 2025, the Government of Tamil Nadu announced that it would conduct 3 TET exams in 2026 for the benefit of in-service teachers. This announcement came after the Supreme Court imposed a mandatory TET exam rule for in-service teachers as well. While a review petition was filed on the SC order on TET imposition for in-service teachers, the Tamil Nadu Government might still go ahead with 3 TET exams.
In October 2025, TRB announced that it would conduct a Special TET exam on January 24 and 25, 2026. However, the exam authority did not open the application form, and no further update was provided on the revised exam dates. Therefore, TRB might announce the revised dates for the special TET exam first.
When will the TNTET 2026 Exam be conducted?
While there is no official announcement on the TNTET 2026 exam dates, there is a possibility that the exam might be conducted after May 2026. There are limited chances for the exam to be conducted in March or April due to the TN Assembly Elections scheduled in April or May. ECI will soon announce the schedule for TN General Assembly Elections 2026, after which the dates of TET exam/ other recruitment exams might be finalised. Even if TRB opens the TET application form in February, the exam must be scheduled in April/ May, which might clash with elections. Therefore, a decision on the upcoming TNTET exam shall be taken only after the announcement of election dates.The aspirants are advised to refrain from rumours on the TNTET exam date and wait for an official update that will be posted on trb.tn.gov.in . If a decision is taken to conduct the exam, the announcement shall be made through the 'What's New/ Announcements' section of the official website.
