The Industry Leaders' Alliance (ILA) event 2023, hosted by the Office of Career Advancement & Networking of Alliance University at the Taj, MG Road, Bengaluru, received overwhelming support. An esteemed community of leaders from various business functions and industries came together for ILA for an evening full of lively conversations, insightful exchanges, and unforgettable experiences. The event began with a welcome speech from the vice chancellor, Dr. Anubha Singh, who took the opportunity to personally welcome each panel member as well as senior corporate representatives and faculty. This was followed by a panel discussion about digital transformation. The panel discussion's topic was "Driving Digital Transformation: Cutting-Edge Technologies and Their Roles."
The panel included thought leaders such as Mr. Vikas Arora, Managing Director at State Street; Mr. S. Rajesh, CEO of Reliance Jio in Karnataka; Mr. Venkatanarayan V, Vice President and Digital Transformation Leader, GMO at Dr. Reddy's; and Dr. Sunil Kumar C, Engineering Director, Innovation, Data Science, and Automation at Maersk. Mr. Ramakant, an Alliance alumnus and Client Partner with Capgemini, moderated the panel discussion. The panellists shared excerpts from digital transformation journeys they witnessed and implemented in their professional careers and at the organisations they represented. They also emphasised the significance of a digital roadmap in managing various business functions in order to achieve organisational growth, profitability, and sustainability. The discussion clearly concluded that an enterprise that does not plan to invest in digital transformation is on the verge of extinction.
A unique two-year full-time MBA programme in digital transformation was also introduced at the event, which was intended to be a revelation for the delegates. The MBA in Digital Transformation is curated by an industry consortium led by AMS India, which includes ABB Robotics, Adroitec, Siemens, and Systema. During the launch, Mr. Abhay G. Chebbi, Pro-Chancellor of Alliance University, emphasised the importance of digital transformation in business and the need for highly qualified personnel to lead such efforts. He introduced the programme and the Alliance University partners involved in its development.
Both Mr. Shashidhar NC, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Advance Mechanical Services Pvt. Ltd. (AMS India), and Dr. U Chandrashekar, Chief Executive Officer, GMSIR Scientific Innovation & Research, discussed how the concept of such a modern programme came to be implemented. On January 14, 2023, Alliance University, South India's first private university, gracefully completed its Annual Convocation ceremony at the Central Campus in Anekal, Bengaluru. Hon'ble Dr. C. N. Ashwath Narayan, Pro-Visitor of Alliance University and Minister for Higher Education, IT & BT, Science and Technology, and Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, and Livelihood of the Government of Karnataka; Justice S. R. Bannurmath, Chairman of the Karnataka Law Commission; and Shri. Harshit Singhal, Managing Director of HashedIn by Deloitte attended the convocation ceremony. The graduation of 2445 students was celebrated at the convocation. Medals and merit certificates were awarded to 161 rank holders. 1615 students were awarded degrees, 830 were awarded diplomas, and 14 Alliance University students were awarded doctorates.
