Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj University Scholarships 2026 - Details, Eligibility, Amount

CSMU scholarship is provided on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination (Class 12 or equivalent) for admission to the undergraduate programs of the University. This scholarship will be allowed at the time of admission and will continue for the first year. Students who wish to continue this scholarship in the 2nd year will have to maintain a CGPA of 9.75 for 75% programme fee waiver, 9.50 for 50% programme fee waiver and 9.00 for 20% programme fee waiver.  

50% concession in programme fees may be granted to self/ son/ spouse/ daughter of university employees. Apart from this, the extended blood relations of university employees, defined as sister/ brother/ son or daughter of brother/ sister of university employee are eligible for 15% programme fee waiver.

It should be noted that this scholarship will continue throughout the programme until the employee continues to work at the university

Note: The fee concession continues throughout the programme.

20% programme fee waiver may be given to the students from Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Parsi, Muslim, Jain and Marwari communities. This fee concession will continue throughout the programme.

20% concession in programme fee may be offered to students who are differently abled with 40% or higher impairment. This fee concession will continue throughout the programme.

25% programme fee waiver may be given to sister or brother and also to the wife/ husband of existing students of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj University, Navi Mumbai or its sister institutes for the first year. The scholarship will continue until both the students are studying at the University. 

Note: Concession will be considered on the lower programme fee.

A limited number of PhD and M.Tech students (Full time only) may be awarded teaching assistantships (TA) of INR 15,000 and INR 8,000 per month depending on the requirements of University departments and schools. These teaching assistantships will be granted on the recommendation of the interview committee set up for this. Along with research work, TA will be assigned such no. of classes/ week as decided by the competent authority.

A student of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj University, Navi Mumbai or its sister institutes who has completed one degree and is taking admission to the next degree will be allowed 25% programme fee concession with a maximum of INR 30,000 throughout the programme. 

For Diploma in engineering student, who is seeking admission in B.Tech(Lateral Entry) programme, 40% concession may be provided in the programme fee for 1st year (B. Tech. 2nd year). 25% concession in programme fee may be provided to the student if he maintains a minimum CGPA of 7.00 and passes all credit courses.

The University grants President's Scholarship to students of the University who are in need of or deserve financial assistance. The President will grant this scholarship to a worthy student for any sum or authorise any fee waiver as he considers necessary.

Note: All the eligible students will have to apply for the appropriate scholarship or the financial assistance scheme on the prescribed application form on or before the date decided by the University every academic year. Scholarship schemes cannot be combined and a student can avail only one financial assistance scheme/ scholarship at any given time.
