85+ Percentile in JEE Main 2026 Predictions and Expectations

The JEE Main cutoff changes every year and differs across categories. While the qualifying percentile does not guarantee admission to NITs or IIITs, it is mandatory for students to appear in JEE Advanced exam 2026. As our experienced JEE ranks vs percentile analysis expert Supreeta Roy predicts - "Having scored 85+ percetnile in JEE Mains Session 1 exam 2026, you can expect a rank between 211,500 and 225,000. This means you will likely have to achieve 82-84.2+ marks in the paper. However, given a tough paper, this marks range may fall between 58.5-59.9+. With this percentile score, students can get admission to  IIIT Bhagalpur, IIIT Gwalior, NIT Goa etc. But top NITs are usually out of reach, especially for the General category candidates." The article deals with the expected marks vs rank for 85+ percentile in JEE Mains 2026, estimated using this year's difficulty level and recent cutoff trends.

Predicted Percentile for 165 Marks in JEE Main 2026 Session 1

Predicted Percentile for 165 Marks in JEE Main 2026 Session 1: If you score 165 marks in JEE Main 2026 Session 1, you are in a good and highly competitive position. At this score, the candidate remains well ahead of the vast majority who take the test, and can be confident of solid chances during counselling. Based on subject experts’ analysis and previous years, it is expected that a candidate scoring 165 or more marks in a moderately difficult paper may fetch a percentile of approximately 98.56+ with a rank of approximately 21,600 or better. Though these figures are indicative and may slightly vary due to normalisation across shifts and overall performance at the all-India level, this score provides a good benchmark and is confidently taken into account in the planning of admission.

Dear Student,

With an EPCET rank of 39,600 in the OC-EWS category, you have a reasonable chance of securing admission in several reputable engineering colleges across Andhra Pradesh. If you aim for JNTU-affiliated or government-aided institutions, options like A.U. College of Engineering (Visakhapatnam) or SVU College of Engineering (Tirupati) might be possible under the EWS quota, particularly in branches like Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering. For private colleges, GMR Institute of Technology (Rajam), Vignan’s Foundation (Guntur), or KL University (Vijayawada) are strong choices, offering good infrastructure and placements, especially if you utilise the fee reimbursement scheme. Other decent options include SRKR Engineering College (Bhimavaram), Pragati Engineering College (Surampalem), or GVP College of Engineering (Visakhapatnam), which have decent industry connections. We hope that we were able to answer your query successfully. Stay tuned with CollegeDekho for the latest updates related to education, admission, counseling and more. All the best for a great future ahead!

Dear student, with a rank of 1815 in AP EAMCET, a BIPC student has a very good chance of getting a seat in a veterinary college, especially in government colleges. A rank within the top 5000 is usually considered very good for veterinary admissions.
