The candidate needs to fulfil certain eligibility conditions to be able to get a seat at IIIT Nagpur. Those who fail at satisfying the conditions will not be called for the counselling even if they give the JEE Mains and get the required rank in it. The candidate must have qualified his/her 12th in the year he/she is planning to take admission in IIIT Nagpur or in the year previous to that. The candidate’s age should not be more than 25 years in the year he/she is taking admission in the institute if he/she belongs to the general category. Candidates belonging to the SC or ST category, is given a relaxation of 5 years and hence he/she should not be older than 30 years of age. It is mandatory for the candidate to have Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects in their class 12th. Candidates must have received at least 75 percent marks in the compulsory subjects that are mentioned above. It is compulsory for the candidate to appear for the engineering entrance exam, JEE Mains, of the same year in which he/she wants to take admission. The candidate must have secured a valid rank in the entrance exam of JEE Mains to be considered for admission.

The candidate has to apply for the JEE Mains exam online and within the given deadline. The candidate has to ensure that he/she fills the application form correctly and provides all valid information. If he/she fails to do so, the application form filled by him/her will be cancelled. After the declaration of the JEE Mains result, the candidate will have to apply at IIIT Nagpur if his/her rank falls within the cutoff. If the candidate is eligible for admission, he/she will receive a call letter from the institute and will have to appear for the counselling process at IIIT Nagpur.
IIIT Nagpur admission process 2025 differs for BTech and PhD programmes. The candidates must follow the centralised counselling for BTech while PhD requires direct application to the institute.
