Career Options in Sports Industry 2025

India has been a big sports country for a while now. The country has always had a rich sports culture even with the lack of support from society. Regardless of the sport, potential athletes are chosen around the world while they are in their early teens or younger, an age bracket which India is awash in. However, it is difficult to develop youthful talent in India. There are various difficulties, including socioeconomic, linguistic, religious, cultural, dietary, social taboo, gender bias, etc., not to mention the current sports governance framework.

With fewer sporting chances as a result of the pandemic, the sports industry faced significant challenges in 2020 and was only able to generate Rs 5894 Cr ($796 Mn) in revenue.

However, the industry quickly recovered and sprang back into action in 2021, earning almost twice that it did in 2020, Rs 9530 Cr ($1288 Mn). You might be wondering how this sector was able to achieve $1 billion in just one year. Three things—sponsorships, athlete endorsements, and brand media spending—were the only reasons for it.

As a result, there will be an increased demand for coaches, experts in track and field, sports medicine, trainers, experts in sports nutrition, experts in sports psychology, experts in strength training, competition managers, sports journalists, experts in the law, and nutritionists in the future.
