JEE Main Safe Rank Prediction for NIT CSE Admission 2026

Getting admission into the CSE course in an NIT through JEE Main 2026 is becoming very competitive with every passing year. During last year's JoSAA counselling 2025, the closing ranks for top NITs like Trichy, Surathkal, and Warangal for the General category ended within the top 2000-3000 ranks, while mid-tier NITs closed their CSE seats within the 7000-12000 range. NIT GATE Cutoff 2026 - Check Previous Years' Cutoff, MTech Admission Process

NIT GATE Cutoff 2026: The GATE 2026 cutoff for NIT will be released at ccmt.admissions.nic.in in the form of opening and closing ranks. The NIT GATE cutoff 2026 is the cutoff mark that students must score to get NIT M.Tech admission. The highest NIT cutoff for MTech admission ranges from 800-850 each year, with the lowest cutoff being 350-400. The expected NIT Trichy GATE cutoff ranges between 700 to 800 for general students and 200 to 400 for SC/ST students. Whereas the expected GATE 2026 cutoff for newly established NIT Goa ranges between 400 to 700 for general students and 200 to 350 for SC/ST/ students. Dear student,

With your score of 10720 in NIMCET, it seems difficult for you to get admission in any of the NITs. The top NITs like Trichy, Surathkal, Warangal, Allahabad usually close admissions for the General category within the top 50-300 ranks. Even for reserved categories, the ranks typically do not extend into five digits.

For other participating NITs like Bhopal, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Patna, Raipur, Agartala generally remain within the top 1000-2000 for the General/OBC-NCL categories. For SC/ST categories, some may go up to 4000-8000, but 10720 is still a very difficult rank to get into any of the participating NITs.

Unfortunately, with an All India Rank of 10720, your chances of getting admission into any of the NIMCET participating NITs (National Institutes of Technology) is highly unlikely for the MCA programme. Based on previous years' cut-off trends, it will be difficulut for you to get a seat even if you belong to the reserved categories basis last year's trend. The competition is extremely high for these limited seats (around 800-1000 seats across all NITs).

You can try for other universities like AKTU, GGSIPU, HBTU, UoH and state government aided universities. You might need to appear for state exams like MAH MCA CET for Maharashtra, OJEE for Odisha, PGCET for Karnataka, etc. for admission to state universities.

With an an OBC rank of 803 in the NIMCET 2025 exam, you have a good chance of getting admission into several NITs such as NIT Raipur, NIT Krukshetra and NIT Jamshedpur.

JoSAA eligibility requires 2025 requires a passing grade in all the subjects in your Class 12 (or equivalent) examination. While the 75% (or 65%) criterion is important for the general/reserved category eligibility, it's also important that you pass all the subjects in your Class 12. If you have further queries regarding Engineering course admission, you can write to hello@collegedekho.com or call our toll free number 18005729877, or simply fill out our Common Application Form on the website.
