AIIMS in Alappuzha or Thrissur: The Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Suresh Gopi has once again demanded the setting up of an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Kerala, saying the state was in dire need of a world-class medical-cum-research institution. "Alappuzha should be given priority as there are no major healthcare facilities in the town and it is backwards on all other developmental fronts," he said.
