140 Marks in JEE Main 2026 Predicted Percentile Score and Rank

You are already above the average range if your score in JEE Main 2026 is 140 marks. As per predictions by Mahima Gupta - "140 marks in JEE Mains 2026 means a percentile score of 95.8-98.5, which treanslates to a rank of around 61,750-22,500. At this score, you definitely have a better chance to study at respectable engineering colleges, including some of the newer/ lesser NITs, like NIT Srinagar, NIT Puducherry, NIT Mizoram and others." But, since the introduction of percentiles in JEE exams, scoring above a required point is mandatory, as AIR will correspond to that mark only.

Why EAMCET 2026 Is Important for Engineering and Medical Aspirants

With the increase in the level of competition, limited number of seats in the top notch colleges and high cutoff range for streams like agriculture, pharmacy and engineering, students from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh face humongous pressure to secure a correct path for higher education. In the competitive landscape, the EAMCET exam has become a lifeline, a true guiding force for students from these two states to secure a seat in renowned colleges. Unlike the major national level engineering and medical exams like JEE Mains, JEE Advanced, NEET, the EAMCET exams give a fair and region based platform for every test taker to secure their future through professional education. Moreover, admission based on this exam not only imparts quality education but at the same time ensures that the educational costs are affordable, transparent in nature and merit based.

After the completion of the first four exam days of JEE Main 2026 Session 1 (January 21 to January 24), a clear picture of paper difficulty has started to form. While no shift can be called “easy,” based on student feedback, teacher reviews, and early exam analysis, some shifts were clearly more challenging than others.

Dear Student,

With a 99.82 percentile in MHT CET, getting into VJTI Mumbai for Computer Science (CS) is possible but not guaranteed, particularly for the General category with Maharashtra domicile. The cutoff for VJTI CS is typically very high, often above 99.90 for the General category. While 99.82 is a strong score, it might be on the cusp or slightly below the expected cutoff for VJTI's CS program. We hope that we have answered your questions successfully. Stay tuned to College Dekho for the latest updates related to education news, counselling, admission, and more. All the best for a great future ahead!

Hello, your MHT CET 2025 score of 104 marks with a 9 percentile means that you scored higher than 9% of the candidates who appeared in the same shift as you, due to the normalisation process applied to MHT CET 2025 results. While this score may not be sufficient for admission to top-tier engineering colleges, you should explore your options during the MHT CET 2025 counselling process, which involves preference filling for colleges and courses.

If you think your score is incorrect, you can file a grievance through the CET Cell portal for rechecking. However, you can reach out to private colleges such as JSPM, DYP, and MIT-WPU for direct admission via management quota. If you're open to options, consider retaking the exam next year or applying for other engineering entrance exams, such as COMEDK, SRMJEEE, VITEEE, or AP EAMCET (if you are eligible).

Some of the engineering colleges in Pune include Jayawantrao Sawant College of Engineering and Zeal College of Engineering, while in Mumbai/Navi Mumbai, consider Viva Institute of Technology and Shivajirao S. Jondhale College. In the Nagpur region, JD College of Engineering & Management and GH Raisoni Institute are options, and for Aurangabad/Jalgaon, you can look at Deogiri Institute of Engineering and Marathwada Institute of Technology.

If you have further queries regarding Engineering course admission, you can write to hello@collegedekho.com or call our toll free number 18005729877, or simply fill out our Common Application Form on the website.
