We think that you have mistaken Mohammed Sahil Akhtar for Shoaib Akhtar, as per the records of the JEE Advanced exams; Md. Sahil Akhtar took JEE Advanced 2023 and secured a 99th rank. However, Akhtar dropped the vision of getting into IIT during counselling to pursue a double major in computer science and physics at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). He realised the opportunity to get into IT for research after taking the IOAA Olympiad in Georgia. Sahil is from Kolkata and completed his intermediate from Delhi Public School (DPS), Ruby Park, and he appeared for the JEE main 2023 for the April session. The admissions process has been started for session 2024 and the eligibility rriteria to be eligible, candidates must achieve a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in their 10+2 examination, with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and English as subjects. Alternatively, they can qualify through the JEE Mains, LPUNEST, or CUET exams. However, if a candidate has not studied English as a subject, the requirement for English may be waived off if the candidate has studied in English medium in their qualifying exam. There is a 5% relaxation in aggregate marks for candidates from North-East states, Sikkim, or for Defence Personnel and their Dependents, as well as Wards of Kashmiri Migrants. LPUNEST will not be required if the candidate's JEE Mains Percentile is equal to or above 80 Percentile.
