AFCAT 1 Results 2026 is expected to be released by EdCIL in the last week of February of first week of March. You must note that AFCAT Exam 2026 is conducted twice a year as AFCAT 1 and AFCAT 2 to fill the vacancies announced by IAF. How to Download AFCAT Results 2026?

Students appearing for AFCAT 1 exam on January 31, 2026, must know the process of downloading the results as the AFCAT results are expected to be released in February. You can check the steps mentioned below to understand the process to download AFCAT Results 2026:

AFCAT Result 2026 Stages

The IAF declares the AFCAT result 2026 in two stages: the written test and the interview. Candidates qualifying for the AFCAT 2026 written test in one stage will be eligible to appear in the next round.

AFCAT Marks Normalisation Scheme 2026

IAF has introduced a new method of mark normalisation for the AFCAT exam 2026. This is to ensure that marks of all applicants are assessed on a proper scale, independent of the difficulty level of question papers and students who appear for the examination.

The marks of each candidate will be adjusted to a standard scale. This will bring every candidate on par and offer an opportunity equal to others for further progress to the next step of the selection process. The scheme which IAF has adopted is the AFCAT Normalisation Scheme 2026. The formula is as follows:

Scoring System

• 3 marks for a correct answer. Every right answer gets 3 marks, emphasising correctness.
• 1 mark negative if the wrong answer is given. The student must not guess; in case of any wrong answer, there will be a deduction of 1 mark, hence forcing someone to think deeply
• No (0) marks for blank questions. No marks for a blank question; the urge to try and figure something hence is explained.

Score Normalisation Procedure

• Mean and Standard Deviation Shift: Each shift has its average score, mean, and spread of scores – standard deviation calculated.
• Shift Scaling: Equating of scores or adjusting for shifts is made in such a way that the tests have the same mean and standard deviation relative to the whole test data for each shift; that is, the scores marginally tend to fall from the shift seen as higher and rise from those identified as lower on a common standard.
• Final Normalised Score: This determines your ultimate score by using this adjusted score, where we can all share a common reference point to ensure that we all compete fairly.

AFCAT Result: How to Correct Discrepancies

Indian Air Force maintains due diligence and integrity to provide fair results to the students. AFCAT result generation process is fully automated, and the chances of errors are very less. In case, if any student finds any discrepancies in the result, they can contact the examination conducting authority and submit proof related to the same for any further actions to be taken.

What After the Release of AFCAT 2026 Result?

After clearing the AFCAT Exam 2026 cut-off, the students will have to go through the process of Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) interview, which includes three major steps as mentioned below: 

• Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) test
• Psychological tests
• Group tasks and personal interview
