The allotment process depends on multiple factors, such as seat availability, candidate merit, preferences filled, and the total number of applicants participating in the Gujarat PGCET 2026 counselling. Follow the steps given below to check the Gujarat PGCET seat allotment 2026 result.
Government seats are filled on a merit basis as per the list displayed by the Admission Committee. Management seats are filled based on an inter-se merit list of the students, and the seats are filled based on the decision made by the respective Professional Educational College or Institution.
Seats for the first-year admission in Professional Post-Graduate Courses are available under the following categories:
Government Seats
Sanctioned seats of the Professional Postgraduate Courses in the Government Colleges or Institutions of the State.
Sanctioned seats of the Professional Postgraduate Courses in the aided Colleges or Institutions.
75% of the sanctioned seats are allocated in unaided Colleges or Institutions for Professional Post-Graduate Courses.
Extra seats are offered in government colleges, Institutions and in the aided and unaided Colleges or Institutions.
Notwithstanding any of the above rules:
1. 95% of all the sanctioned Government seats for Professional Postgraduate Courses are filled by students who meet the following criteria:
The student has passed the qualifying examination from any of the Universities/ Institutes.
The student holds a Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination from schools in Gujarat or holds a diploma in Engineering from Universities or institutes in Gujarat.
2. 5% of the sanctioned Government seats will be allocated to the following students:
Passed the qualifying examination from any of the Universities or Institutes.
Passed Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination or Diploma in Engineering from any institute or university outside of Gujarat. Still, if any of the seats are vacant, it will be offered to the students mentioned in the above point 1.
Notwithstanding rule 2, if any seat is vacant, it will be filled by students under rule 1. And vice versa.
Management Seats
25% of the sanctioned seats for Professional Post-Graduate Courses are offered in the unaided Colleges or Institutions, It includes 15% of the non-resident Indian seats.
Unaided Colleges or Institutions that request management Seats three days before the counselling process are allocated seats under management.
Notwithstanding anything of the above points:
25% of the management seats in unaided Colleges or Institutions, 10% of the total sanctioned seats of the Professional Post-Graduate Course shall be offered to the following students:
Passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination from any school
Hold Diploma Diploma in Engineering from any of the Universities or institutes in Gujarat.
Supernumerary Seats
These seats are filled according to the guidelines of AICTE, New Delhi and the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India.
After the release of the Gujarat PGCET seat allotment results, the authorities provide the option of cancelling the seat. The steps to cancel your admission are as follows:
