IIMC Delhi is a government-run institute supported by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting of the Government of India. The IIMC Entrance Exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The institute has headquarters in New Delhi and five regional campuses at Aizawl (Mizoram), Amravati (Maharashtra), Dhenkanal (Odisha), Jammu (J&K), and Kottayam (Kerala).
There are 430 seats in IIMC in total. The aim of the IIMC Entrance Examination is to shortlist the highly-deserving candidates for the different mass communication courses offered by the institution. Journalism, TV & Radio Journalism, and Advertising and Public Relations are popular courses offered by IIMC Delhi. These courses are offered in various languages, including English, Hindi, Odia, Marathi, Malayalam, and Urdu.

IIMC Cutoff marks are the minimum marks that the candidates must possess to become eligible for the further selection process of admission to Mass Communication in their desired institutes. The cutoff will be declared after the declaration of the IIMC Result 2023.

IIMC selection process is segregated into two rounds: entrance exam and the final round of GD/PI. Both the rounds hold different weightage.

IIMC New Delhi | Candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in the Computer Based Test (CBT) at different centres conducted by NTA followed by GD and PI round. At the PG level, IIMC Delhi offers one-year PG diploma courses in five specialisations. A separate category-wise merit list will be prepared for each course. The list of the candidates selected for admission will be prepared on the basis of the combined marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination and in the interview /group discussion. The weightage for the written examination and the interview/group discussion will be 75:25.
IIMC will send the call letter to the qualified candidates inviting them for group discussion and personal interview. Candidates will find the counselling venue on their website along with the admission notice. It is mandatory for the selected candidates to reach the venue exactly given in the call letter to participate in the GD & PI. Candidates must carry their original documents along with them at the time of counselling for verification. After the selection of the candidates, the final selection list of candidates will be released.
