The Directorate General of Medical Services has changed the selection process for the Indian Army BSc Nursing course by removing the entrance test. Currently, the selection for the course is solely based on the NEET 2025 entrance exam. Below are the steps that students must follow to apply for the Indian Army BSc Nursing counselling process.
The Indian Army BSc Nursing Counselling 2025 process consists of four stages. The final qualifying candidates are granted admission to the Indian Army BSc Nursing course at AFMC colleges. Students can find the detailed Indian Army BSc Nursing Counselling process stated below.
In the Indian Army BSc Nursing course selection process, the first stage is when female students are shortlisted by the Directorate General of Medical Services authorities. They are shortlisted based on their marks in the NEET exam. The selection guidelines are decided by the grant of the commission in the Armed Forces from time to time. Shortlisted student's registration numbers will be reflected in the qualifying student's list once it is released by the authorities.
Indian Army BSc Nursing Written Test 2025 consists of students appearing for the General Intelligence & General English test (ToGIGE). Students will also have to appear for the Psychological Assessment Test (PAT) apart from the ToGIGE written test. Students will not appear for the two tests will be disqualified from the entrance test. ToGIGE written test is a computer-based test (CBT) that will be conducted for 30 minutes online. There will be 40 multiple-choice questions that will be asked in the exam. There will be a negative marking of 0.5 marks in the exam for negative marking in the examination. Students will be awarded +2 marks for correct answers to the questions in the ToGIGE written test. There will be no marks awarded or deducted for unanswered questions in the written test for the Indian Army BSc Nursing course.
Document Verification and Interview is the third stage in the Indian Army BSc Nursing course selection process. In this stage, students who have qualified for the NEET exam and the written test are called for document verification. Students must carry their NEET scorecard along with their DOB, mark sheets, certificates, medical fitness certificate etc. The Directorate General of Medical Services authorities verify the documents of the students offline on a given date. Once the students pass the document verification stage, then an interview is conducted by the authorities. In the interview, students are asked some questions regarding their interest in joining the armed forces, educational details and more. Stduents who clear the Document Verification and Interview stage move further with their candidature.
The Medical Fitness Test is the last stage in the Indian Army BSc Nursing selection process. In this stage, female candidates are examined by the officers regarding their height, weight and other factors. The medical fitness parameters are set by the Directorate General of Medical Services and the Commission in the Armed Forces. Stduents will have to go to a venue decided by the authorities and appear for the special medical board test (SMB). The appearing students will be informed about their medical status by the President's Special Medical Board.
