Registration

To register, you need to visit the nearest helpline centres, where you will be informed about the complete process of counselling that includes exercising options, allotment of seats, payment of fees and reporting to the college.

• To get the documents verified, you need to carry the original as well as a photocopy of the required documents to the helpline centres. The PGCET document verification 2026 Karnataka will be conducted as per the schedule, therefore, you must confirm the date & time of the verification before arriving at the helpline centres.

• This will be followed by getting the document verification acknowledgement card & verification slip issued, which need to be retained during the entire admission process. After the completion of the verification, the authority will return the original documents and will retain one set for the attested photocopies of all the documents.

• After the document verification for PGCET 2026, your eligibility will also be simultaneously verified on the same day.

• The document verification for PGCET 2026 will be done for all the disciplines. However, you will have to produce the original documents with one set of Gazetted officer-attested photocopies of all the original documents and two passport-size photographs during the verification process.

• If you are eligible after verification, then you will be considered for options entry, which is the next step of the counselling process.

• The complete list of the eligible students will be published by KEA on its website at the end of every day after verification.

You must note that after the document verification, you will be given a high-security secret key that will be required to register and create a password as per your choice for login at the online option entry portal. For this, only you will be responsible for maintaining the secrecy of the password and secret key.

Choice Filling

• The next and one of the most important steps in Karnataka PGCET choice filling 2026. During this process, you will have to choose the colleges and courses of your choice. You will have to enter the course/ college of your choice from among the seats that are displayed at the time of the entry of options, i.e., college-wise, category-wise course-wise, discipline-wise.

• One may enter any number of options as he/she wishes to exercise on his / her own priority. It is advisable for you to enter more options to avoid the disappointment of not securing a seat. Once the options are recorded in the server on the last day and time of the notified schedule, each round will be frozen, and only the frozen options will be considered for seat allotment. After entering the options, it is necessary to take a printout of the options entered in each round once the last date and time for entry of options are over.

Mock Allotment

After the options entry, the authority will conduct the mock allotment, and the allotment status will be hosted on the website of KEA. The mock seat allotment is conducted to familiarise the students with the seat allotment procedure. In order to verify the status of their allotment, two days' time will be given to the students. You can change/modify your choices on the basis of the mock allotment result. After ascertaining the college and course allotted, if you wish to change/modify the options, then you can do so within the stipulated date and time and on the basis of the modified entry of options, the real seat allotment process will be conducted.

Seat Allotment

This is the last step of the counselling process. The seat allotment is conducted on a merit-based basis and on the basis of the options filled. The  Karnataka PGCET 2026 seat allotment will be done as per the reservation policy of the government. After seat allotment, you must report to the college for seat confirmation.

Reporting to the allotted institute

In this step of the counselling process, you have to visit the allotted institute within the specified date and time, which has been allotted a seat after the first, second or special round (if any). You will be issued a provisional seat allotment letter, which you can download by logging into the Karnataka PGCET 2026 counselling portal. While visiting the college, you must carry all the documents in their original and xerox copies and deposit the requisite fees as charged by the college.
