ISC Class 12 Physics Exam Pattern 2025-26
: In physics, students will have to appear for a 70-mark theory paper and a 30-mark practical exam. There will be 70 marks theory paper, 15 marks practical, 10 marks project work, and 5 marks practical file. Both theory and practical exam will be held for 3 hours. In the theory paper, students will get questions divided into 4 sections, i.e., A, B, C, and D. Internal choices are provided in two questions each in Sections B, C, and D. Section A will have 1 mark question; sections B, C, and D will have 7 questions of 2 marks each, 9 questions of 3 marks each, and 3 questions of 5 marks each, respectively. Students are also advised to check the

. In ISC Physics weightage, the optics unit holds the highest weightage of 18 marks, followed by Electromagnetism of 16 marks.
Students are also advised to solve the

to get a better understanding of pattern and weightage of marks. The class 12 exams are expected to begin in the month of Feb 2025.

ISC Class 12 Physics Practical Blueprint 2025-26
There will be practical work (Paper II) for 15 Marks. The experiments for laboratory work and practical examinations are mostly from two groups: (i) experiments based on ray optics and (ii) experiments based on current electricity.
The ISC Class 12 Project Work for Physics will carry 10 marks. The Project work will be assessed by a Visiting Examiner appointed locally and approved by the Council. Candidates will have to do one project involving some physics related topics under the guidance and regular supervision of the Physics teacher. Candidates should undertake any one of the following types of projects:
- Theoretical project
- Working Model
- Investigatory project (by performing an experiment under supervision of a teacher)
ISC Class 12 Physics Question Paper Pattern 2025-26
The ISC Physics question paper pattern and marking scheme are provdied here.- The ISC Class 12 physics paper is of 70 marks.
- Three hours are allotted for this paper.
- An additional 15 minutes are set aside for reading the paper.
- The total number of sections is four.
- Students must answer all questions.
- Section A consists of 1 question with sub-parts worth 1 mark each.
- Section B consists of 7 questions of 2 marks each.
- Section C consists of nine 3-mark questions, while Section D has three 5-mark questions.
- Internal choices are provided in two questions each in Sections B, C, and D.
