JAC Class 12 Mathematics Syllabus 2025-26: The Jharkhand Academic Council released the JAC 12th Mathematics syllabus 2026 on its official website. The class 12th Math syllabus includes six units: Relations and Functions; Algebra; Calculus; Vectors and Three-Dimensional Geometry; Linear Programming; and Probability. The exam will be held for 100 marks in total, out of which theoretical part will carry 80 marks, while the practical and internal assessment components will carry 20 marks. The Mathematics question paper will consist of MCQ, Very Short Answer (VSA), Short Answer (SA), Long Answer (LA) questions. From last year onwards, 20 marks will be allotted for the objective type questions and the remaining marks will be allotted for subjective type questions including short answer type questions and long answer type questions.

1. Relations and Functions

• Types of relations: Reflexive, symmetric, transitive, equivalence relations
• Types of functions: One-one, onto, bijective
• Composition of functions and invertible functions

2. Inverse Trigonometric Functions

• Definition and properties of inverse trigonometric functions
• Graphs of inverse trigonometric functions
• Principal values

3. Matrices

• Types of matrices: Square, diagonal, identity, zero matrix
• Operations on matrices: Addition, multiplication, scalar multiplication
• Transpose of a matrix
• Symmetric and skew-symmetric matrices

4. Determinants

• Definition and properties of determinants
• Minors and cofactors
• Calculation of determinants up to order 3
• Applications: Solving systems of linear equations using Cramer's rule

5. Continuity and Differentiability

• Continuity of a function at a point
• Differentiability and its geometrical interpretation
• Derivatives of inverse trigonometric functions

6. Application of Derivatives

• Rate of change of quantities
• Increasing and decreasing functions
• Tangents and normals
• Maxima and minima of functions

7. Integrals

• Integration as the inverse process of differentiation
• Methods of integration: substitution, integration by parts
• Definite integrals and properties

8. Application of Integrals

• Area under curves
• Area between two curves

9. Differential Equations

• Formation of differential equations
• Solutions of differential equations by method of separation of variables

10. Vector Algebra

• Vectors and scalars
• Addition and subtraction of vectors
• Scalar and vector products of vectors
• Applications in geometry

11. Three-Dimensional Geometry

• Direction cosines and ratios
• Equation of a line and plane in space
• Angle between two lines, line and plane, two planes

12. Linear Programming

• Introduction to linear programming problems (LPP)
• Graphical method of solution for problems in two variables

13. Probability

• Conditional probability
• Multiplication theorem on probability
• Random variables and their probability distributions
• Binomial distribution

JAC Class 12 Mathematics Syllabus 2025-26 for Internal Assessment

JAC Class 12 Mathematics Question Paper Design 2025-26

The following format will be followed by the Jharkhand Academic Council to construct the question paper for class 12th:

• Candidates should answer in their own words as much as possible.
• All questions are compulsory.
• Total number of questions is 52.
• Questions No. 01 to 30 are multiple-choice questions, each question has four options. Select the correct option. Each question carries a 01 mark.
• Question numbers 31 to 38 are very short answer questions. Out of which it is mandatory to answer any 6 questions. Each question carries 02 marks.
• Question numbers 39 to 46 are short answer questions. Out of which it is mandatory to answer any 6 questions. Each question carries 03 marks.
• Question numbers 47 to 52 are long answer questions. It is mandatory to answer any 4 questions. Each question carries 05 marks
